Joshua Wallace’s art practice is focused on drawing, painting and the creation of mixed media installations. He is inspired by contemporary urban culture, visionary art , folk art and ancient cave paintings. Wallace is known as “Sasquatch23” in the west coast street art scene.
Joshua's images often depict gigantic beasts containing smaller and stranger characters. These raw and tender characters exhibit a wide range of human emotion. The paintings create vibrant psychedelic atmospheres through a combination of geometry and sci-fi whimsy. Wallace’s current work explores themes of alchemy, magic, self-actualization, identity, communication and community.
